Snow White & the Huntsman

Snow White and the Huntsman is like a trumped up Hollywood - all arrows blazing - version of the 1943 Snow White and the 7 Dwarves. Kristen Stewart is painfully average as she tries to commandeer a character that just isn't in her skills set. It's just disappointing really, because we know she is a talented actress from Still Alice and yet she continues to choose these awful characters (although I appreciate how Still Alice was like 3 years after this film, let's hope that her preference for film genres is now more steered in that direction).

I can't tell if Chris Hemsworth can act or not. It's really weird because admittedly I did believe that he was this hunky huntsman but at the same time I don't know if I can appreciate that belief as he seems to play that same character in every film he's in, begging the question, is he even acting?

Charlize Theron was, of course, magnificent. Loved her in every scene and in many ways she actually saved the film. Between Kristen Stewarts weird facial expressions and all the mundane shots and cliched everything, she was the only thing keeping the film together and, in effect, my concentration.

In a sentence: Painfully average, but I'm probably going to see the sequel, so read into that whatever you want.
