What an incredible film.

The aesthetics is beautiful, the soundtrack is beautiful, the content is something that is crucial, something that needed to be talked about.

It's definitely a difficult watch, there is no denying that. And to some extent I felt the characters reaction to some of the revelations maybe wasn't outraged enough? I don't know... I just feel like that degree of mistreatment is something that would be met with a bit more emotion, even if it was't necessarily an action you had direct interaction with.

But overall the film handles the subject matter with great respect and it leaves you with an overwhelming sense of horror, at the sheer amount of places where these atrocities were occurring, but also a slight aspect of contentment? Maybe that's not the right word... But this sense that at least it was uncovered? At least it's something that those communities could finally face? I don't think I've phrased this right...

But regardless, it is definitely a film i respect, they conducted and manouvered this story with such care, something that is a hard thing to achieve.]

In a sentence: Solid piece of work, however i feel it may have benefitted from a greater emotional response from the characters (having said that though, they might have tried that and it didn't work, you can never really tell about those things as an audience member)

Sorry that was way too long for 'in a sentence'.
