Genuinely really liked this film.
I absolutely adore Danny Boyle's style and his whole demeanour as a director in general, so this film was easy to like. It's not his best, it's definitely not Trainspotting, but it is something in its self. It's still good. It's still inspiring as a young filmmaker to watch. It's still innovative in its approach with cinematography, acting, style, framing etc...
And although i think the actors are extremely talented (Michael Fassbender as Steve Jobs and Kate Winslet as Joanna Hoffman plus other extremely talented actors) and i believed in most of their characters I couldn't shake this weird feeling every time the name Steve Jobs was mentioned where for a brief moment i wondered who was playing that character. And then of course I would have a surging realisation that, of course, it was Michael Fassbender but there was still that weird hesitation. And I honestly don't know why because he is really good in it, i just think, in the beginning, he isn't the iconic Steve Jobs we all recognise, but then of course as the film progresses his character evolves into the man we all recognise, something that is out of Fassbender's control. It's not his fault Jobs became iconic for his turtle neck and blue jeans etc. only in his latter years.
Regardless, it's a solid piece of work.
In a sentence: Bloody love the cinematography, worth a watch purely for that.
