Such a bizarre film.
Philip Seymour Hoffman, Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams are of course all incredible. I believed in every single one of their characters and the premise is fascinating. This idea of some kind of religious, cult, scientology deal is so interesting. But I still feel the plot is the weakest aspect of the film as, I don't know, I just feel as if it doesn't always quite make sense. And I know films sometimes do this for some kind of artistic effect of whatever but there's just slightly too much left unsaid, which leaves you kind of confused and at times unsure of what is occurring on screen.
Despite this though i would still say it's a good film although i wouldn't watch it again, so I guess read whatever you want into that.
in a sentence: Acting = incredible, story = lacking in explanation (i'm not asking you to shout the plot line at me, but i need some kind of inkling of what's going on).
