I was so excited to see this film. I knew from the trailer that it was going to be trash but I also have this guilty pleasure for these kind of trashy action films. They're always fun. And this film is no exception. Except there's this surprising level underneath. The underlying feminist message was bloody refreshing - Margot Robbie being so badass? I love it. Alex Skarsgård not being indestructible, even showing weakness at times? A far more realistic representation of men, we can't all be perfect - even in films.
Also the music, cinematography - it's as far as breathtaking at times. But I'm not saying it's perfect. It does still have the unnecessary cheesy line or that really weird thing when characters unnecessarily say things in scenes to spell out what's happening to the audiences. It's just a weird thing to watch on screen.
In a sentence: all in all? It's pretty decent.
