Chungking Express

I LOVE HONG KONG NEW WAVE.

Or at least if all Hong kong New Wave is in keeping with this style I know I'll love it. After watching this film I've made it my personal mission to thoroughly explore this era completely, starting this summer.

The editing, cinematography, soundtrack- i just loved it.

Granted, the plot is confusing, may even be considered weak in places but i still enjoyed it. The fact that some character strains are followed then dropped to never be picked up again is a technique i've never seen before but actually kind of liked. It rings more true to life in the sense that, you're never going to have a camera on you for 2 hours and actually have a fully fleshed story with a start, middle and end. It's different, interesting - unique.
